Four Vocational Training centres collaborate to improve the quality of life of cancer patients

Our ikastola Tolosako Inmakulada has joined forces with three other centres (Monte Albertia, Plaiaundi and Zinema eta Bideo Eskola) in an innovative project designed to improve the overall well-being of people affected by cancer. This ambitious project seeks to address the physical, nutritional, psychological and aesthetic needs of patients, creating a network of support and resources that contributes to their quality of life. The project has the collaboration of different associations such as AECC Gipuzkoa, Asgicer, Aspanogi, Izan Iñurri, Katxalin and the “Onkologikoa” Institute of Donostia-San Sebastián

The main objective is to offer accessible information and tools that help cancer patients to take care of themselves and feel better during their process. To this end, digital resources are being developed, such as a website that will include tutorials prepared by specialised professionals, as well as a series of workshops and face-to-face talks. These activities will provide guidance on key topics such as healthy eating, adapted physical activity, emotional well-being and aesthetic self-care.

In addition, the project also aims to generate training material that allows the knowledge acquired to be transferred to the Vocational Training Courses of the Basque Country. This integration ensures that good practices and learning derived from the activities reach the classrooms, multiplying their impact and creating future professionals better prepared to care for this group.

With an initial duration of one year, the project also includes the training of associations and key agents to guarantee the sustainability of the platform and the resources generated. In this way, it is expected that the initiative will continue to benefit cancer patients and their families even after the conclusion of the project.

This collective effort highlights how collaboration between centres of different specialties can make a difference in people’s lives, putting knowledge and innovation at the service of well-being.
